After a disappointing first round defeat in class eliminations on Saturday, Brian drove the Meyer Family Racing/Team Kahlo Belvedere to a strong quarterfinal finish in Sunday eliminations. We knew it would be a good day when I recorded my first ever PERFECT reaction time (.000), and then ran 11.007 on our 11.00 index to boot! Too bad it was only a time trial! First round of eliminations I raced the White Lightning 1965 Plymouth. He had me covered on the tree, and after the handicap start he was able to run me down almost before half track. I knew he was sandbagging, so I just kept my foot planted. Sure enough, I was able to force him to run too quick. In the second round I faced our good friend Larry Smith in the "Thor" '62 Dodge. This was a heads-up race on the 11.00 index. Again, I was behind on the lights but was fortunate to push Larry under the 11.00 index. I ran a 10.994 on the 11.00 index to break out by less. In the third round I got beat by a Ford Fairlane, which went on to win the event. We Mopar guys will never hear the end of that one!!

Special thanks to Scott Sieveking of S&S Promotions, TTI Performance Exhaust, Dave and Doug Duell, and all of the track workers for putting on a TERRIFIC event. We can't wait for next year!!!
